Core rule. Use to after movement verbs when the destination is a named place: “I came to Australia.” “Go to the site.”
No ‘to’ with here/there/home. “come here / go there / go home.”
Come vs go. come → towards speaker/focus; go → away. Bios: “I came to Australia in 2015.” Daily: “I go to job sites.”
Time framing. Past finished: “I came … about ten years ago.” Ongoing: “I have lived here for about ten years.”
핵심 규칙. 목적지가 명시적 장소이면 움직임 동사 뒤에 to 사용: “I came to Australia.” “Go to the site.”
here/there/home 앞에는 to 없음. “come here / go there / go home.”
come vs go. come=화자/초점 쪽, go=멀어짐. 이력: “I came to Australia in 2015.” 일상: “I go to job sites.”
시간 표현. 과거 완료: “I came … about ten years ago.” 현재까지 거주: “I have lived here for about ten years.”
for + length: “for two years”. during + period/event: “during the holidays”. since + point: “since 2015”. ago: finished past (“ten years ago”).
for + 기간, during + 기간/사건, since + 시점, ago(완료된 과거) 구분.
Both ≈ “approximately”. For numbers/time, neutral default is about. around is common in speech and a bit more informal.
둘 다 “대략.” 숫자/시간엔 about이 기본, around는 구어·비격식 느낌.
Use: an orbital sander, a grinder, a drop saw; not “sander machine”. Conditions: “…, depending on the job.”
표준 명칭+관사: an orbital sander, a grinder, a drop saw. 조건: “…, 작업에 따라 (depending on).”
Be-questions: Are you …? Do/does/did: Do you …? Did you …? Requests: “What would you like?” → “I’d like …”.
Be-의문문: Are you …? Do/does/did: Do you …? Did you …? 요청: “What would you like?” → “I’d like …”.
